Privacy Policy

Performance Training Center (“PTC,” “we,” “us”) operates performcenter.com and a private
training studio at 440 Upas Street, Unit 104, San Diego, CA 92103. This policy explains what
personal information we collect through the website and our services, why we collect it, who
receives it, and the choices you have.
We have written this to describe what the site actually does, feature by feature, rather
than in general terms. If anything here is unclear, email
martin@performcenter.com and we will answer.
Information we collect
When you contact us
Our contact form asks for your name, email address, and your message. As with all forms on
the site, our forms plugin also records the IP address and browser user-agent of the
submission as a standard anti-spam measure.
When you use the free BMR & macros calculator
The calculator asks for your age, height, weight, and activity level in order to compute
your results. To release the results we ask for your name and email address. Your age,
height, and weight are health-related information, and we treat them accordingly.
When you use the supplement finder or request a discount code
The “Build My Stack” supplement finder asks for your first and last name, email address,
phone number, and your primary goal. The discount-code page asks for your email address only.
Through the pop-up offer
A pop-up appears on the site offering the free BMR report. It asks for your name, email
address, and your goal. Submissions from this pop-up are delivered into a Google Form and
Google Sheet that we control.
When you order metabolomics testing
This is the most sensitive information we handle, and we want to be specific about it. The
intake form for the Designs for Health Metabolomics Spotlight package collects:
- your name, email address, mobile phone number, and shipping address;
- your age, biological sex, height, and weight;
- health information — diagnosed medical conditions, current medications
and supplements with doses, allergies, whether you are pregnant or nursing, and whether
you have had recent bloodwork; - your training history and any past or current injuries or surgeries;
- your answers to a ten-item symptom questionnaire covering fatigue, recovery, sleep,
focus, motivation, cravings, immunity, muscle soreness, libido, and mood; - your goals; and
- your test results, once the laboratory returns them.
Payment for this package is taken by PayPal (including Venmo). Your card or bank details go
directly to PayPal and are never received, seen, or stored by us.
If you are a coaching client
Clients who use our progress portal and the records we keep as your coach may have the
following stored: body weight, body-fat percentage and girth measurements, progress photos you
choose to provide, food and meal logs, macronutrient targets, supplement recommendations and
doses, exercise logs, session counts and attendance, your goals, and our coaching notes. Portal
accounts use an access code and a password; passwords are stored only in hashed form, and
password-reset links are single-use and expire. We record IP addresses briefly on login,
password-reset, and booking requests to limit abuse of those endpoints.
About the health information we collect
PTC is not a hospital, clinic, insurer, or health plan, and we do not bill insurance. That
means we are not a “covered entity” under HIPAA, so HIPAA does not govern this information.
We say that plainly because the absence of HIPAA is easy to misread — it does not mean the
information is unprotected, and it does not reduce our commitment to handling it carefully.
California law also protects medical information held by businesses like ours.
Our testing and coaching services are wellness and performance services. They are
not medical care, and we do not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. If
something in your results warrants medical attention, we will tell you to follow up with your
physician.
How we use your information
- To deliver what you asked for — calculate your results, process and interpret your test,
prepare your nutrition, lifestyle, and supplement recommendations, and run your
consultation. - To communicate with you about your service, including emailing your results and
scheduling sessions. - To provide coaching and track your progress over time.
- To send marketing email, where you have signed up. Every marketing email has an
unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing does not affect service communications. - To keep the site working, secure, and free of spam, and to understand in aggregate how
it is used. - To meet legal, tax, and recordkeeping obligations.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal or health information. We do
not use your health information for advertising, and we do not disclose it to advertising
networks.
Who receives your information
We share information only as needed to run the service. The companies below process data on
our behalf or as part of delivering something you asked for.
- The processing laboratory — for metabolomics orders, your intake
information and sample are handled by the laboratory that runs the Designs for Health
Metabolomics Spotlight panel, so that the test can be performed and interpreted. - Google — several distinct services: Google Forms and Google Sheets
receive pop-up submissions; Google Analytics receives site-usage data; Google Fonts,
the Google Maps embed on our homepage, and reCAPTCHA on our contact form load on our
pages, and these receive your IP address as a normal part of serving that content. - Our email provider — form submissions, including metabolomics intake
information, are delivered to and retained in our business email accounts, which are
hosted by a third-party email provider. - Mailchimp — stores our marketing email list, including the name, email
address, and phone number of people who sign up. - PayPal (and Venmo) — processes payments directly.
- Meta (Facebook) — we run the Meta advertising pixel, which reports
site activity such as page views and that a checkout was started. It does not receive
the contents of any form field. - GoDaddy — hosts the website and runs its own performance and
engagement scripts on it.
We may also disclose information if we are legally required to, or to protect the rights or
safety of a person.
Cookies, analytics, and local storage
The site uses cookies and similar technologies from Google Analytics and the Meta pixel to
understand traffic and measure advertising, and our host sets its own cookies. Your browser
also stores a few small values locally on your own device so the site behaves sensibly —
specifically, whether you have unlocked the BMR results, a saved copy of your calculator
inputs, and whether the pop-up has already been shown to you. Those values stay on your device
and you can clear them at any time through your browser settings.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser. Some parts of the site may not work
normally if you do.
Do Not Track
Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. There is no common industry standard for how to
respond to it, and our site does not currently respond to Do Not Track signals.
We are telling you this because California law requires us to disclose it.
Your choices and your California rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you;
- correct information that is wrong;
- delete your information; or
- stop sending you marketing email.

differently for exercising any of these rights. Some information may need to be kept to meet
legal, tax, or recordkeeping obligations, and we will tell you if that applies.
California’s “Shine the Light” law lets California residents ask whether we disclose
personal information to third parties for their own direct-marketing use. We do not.
How long we keep information
We keep your information only as long as it is reasonably needed to provide the service you
asked for and to meet legal, tax, and recordkeeping obligations. After that it is deleted or
de-identified. If you want your information removed sooner, contact us.
Security
Access to client information is limited to people who need it to deliver your service.
Portal passwords are stored hashed rather than in plain text, and password-reset links are
single-use and time-limited. The site is served over HTTPS. No method of transmission or
storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
The site and our services are intended for adults. The metabolomics intake requires you to
confirm you are 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children
under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the effective date at the top of this page and post
the revised version here. Material changes will be noted on this page.
