Krebs / citric-acid-cycle organic acids (mitochondrial energy)

Urinary TCA-cycle intermediates such as citrate, cis-aconitate, isocitrate, alpha-ketoglutarate, succinate, fumarate, and malate, reflecting flux through the mitochondrial energy-production pathway.

These intermediates are the backbone of aerobic ATP production. Their urinary pattern supports understanding of how efficiently the mitochondria are turning fuel into energy; exercise metabolomics shows TCA intermediates, lactate and pyruvate rise acutely with exertion, so the profile may help identify optimization opportunities for aerobic energy output and training-load management in healthy active adults. Functional organic-acid markers of B-vitamin sufficiency, e.g. methylmalonic acid (B12), formiminoglutamate/FIGLU (folate), and xanthurenate/kynurenine-pathway ratios (B6), plus markers reflecting thiamine/riboflavin-dependent steps.

B vitamins are the enzymatic cofactors that power the energy-production cascade and the TCA cycle. Urinary markers of oxidative damage such as 8-hydroxy-2'-deoxyguanosine (8-OHdG), an excreted product of oxidative DNA repair, and related redox markers.

Hard training transiently increases reactive-oxygen-species production; urinary 8-OHdG rises with high training loads in endurance athletes. Catecholamine and serotonin breakdown products, e.g. homovanillic acid (HVA, dopamine), vanillylmandelic acid (VMA, norepinephrine/epinephrine), and 5-HIAA (serotonin).

No. This is a wellness and performance tool, not a medical service. We do not diagnose, treat, or cure any condition. How do I collect the sample?

It's simple and completely at-home. Your kit includes clear step-by-step instructions for providing a urine sample, which takes only a few minutes. There are no needles and no clinic visit required.

How long until I get my results?

Turnaround typically runs a couple of weeks from the day the lab receives your sample, depending on lab processing. As soon as your results are ready, we email them to you and schedule your consultation.

What is the consultation like?
